Dear Explainer,

In an urban setting, how many people does one encounter at close range (within let’s say 20 meters) on a typical working day, commuting to work (using BMW : Bus, Metro, Walking) and within the office itself?  Are there any demographics studies that relate population density of a city and this particular statistic?  Must be proportionally related to the said density, and usage of public transportation, I suppose.
